Professor R. Arthur James, Head of the Department of Marine Sciences at Bharathidasan University (BDU), has been awarded the prestigious Tamil Nadu Scientist Award (TANSA) 2022 in the field of Environmental Science by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology. The award carries a cash prize of ₹50,000 and a citation. According to a BDU press release, Professor James has made significant contributions to marine science research and the promotion of sustainable environmental practices.
