Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the groundwork for the first industrial corridor project in south India, which would be built near Tumakuru.
It spans around 8,500 acres of land and is being built part of the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC).
The CBIC project includes the construction of industrial townships in three locations: Krishnapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Tumakuru (Karnataka), and Ponneri (Tamil Nadu).
It is located at a distance of 300 km from the Mangaluru port. From the Bengaluru International Airport, it is at a distance of 115 km. It will increase the manufacturing sector’s presence in the country.
The project aims to contribute towards Make in India initiative of the country. It is in line with the GoI mantra “Reform, Perform, and Transform”.
