  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana in Panipat, Haryana, an LIC initiative to empower women aged 18-70 years by promoting financial literacy and insurance awareness through training and employment opportunities.
  • Women participants (Class X pass) will receive a stipend of ₹7,000 (1st year), ₹6,000 (2nd year), and ₹5,000 (3rd year) during training, enabling them to become LIC agents. The scheme aims to enroll 2,00,000 women over the next three years.
