President Murmu has appointed new Governors for nine states and the Lieutenant Governor for Puducherry

On July 28, 2024, President Droupadi Murmu appointed Governors to nine states and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and accepted Banwarilal Purohit's resignation as Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh.
Newly Appointed Governors by State:
Telangana: Jishnu Dev Varma
Sikkim: Om Prakash Mathur
Jharkhand: Santosh Kumar Gangwar
Chhattisgarh: Ramen Deka
Meghalaya: C H Vijayashankar
Rajasthan: Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde
Maharashtra: C.P. Radhakrishnan (previously Governor of Jharkhand with additional charge of Telangana)
Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh: Gulab Chand Kataria (previously Governor of Assam)
Assam and additional charge of Manipur: Lakshman Prasad Acharya (previously Governor of Sikkim)
Puducherry (Lt. Governor): K. Kailashnathan
