The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented the MY Bharat-NSS Awards 2022-23 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, honoring 10 NSS Units with their Programme Officers and 30 NSS Volunteers for outstanding community service. The awards recognize contributions in literacy, health, environment, women empowerment, disaster relief, and Swachhata initiatives. Each NSS Unit received ₹2 lakh, Programme Officers ₹1.5 lakh, and Volunteers ₹1 lakh, along with medals and certificates. With the motto “NOT ME, BUT YOU” (स्वयं से पहले आप), NSS continues to inspire over 40 lakh volunteers across India.
All of the world’s top 40 most polluted cities are in India with Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan) and Siwani (Haryana) topping the list with hazardous AQI levels.
