  • PR Sreejesh, who was a part of the bronze medal-winning Indian men's hockey team at the Tokyo Olympics, won the prestigious The World Games Athlete of the Year 2021 award.
  • Sreejesh has become the second hockey player to receive this award. Earlier, the captain of the women's hockey team, Rani Rampal had won the award in 2019.
  • Sreejesh has achieved this feat, leaving behind 24 players from all over the world.
  • Sreejesh, a three-time Olympian named FIH's Goalkeeper of the Year 2021, has represented India in over 240 international matches.
