  • The Indian Railways announced to re-designate the post of ‘guard’ as ‘train manager’.
  • Indian Railways has changed the designation of Guard with immediate effect.
  • The Railway Board in its order has also issued instructions to designate the guards as 'Train Managers'. The Assistant Guard is also designated as 'Assistant Passenger Train Manager' and Senior Passenger Guard as 'Senior Passenger Train Manager'.
  • After adding the post of CEO to the post of Chairman, Railway Board, Railways has decided to undergo a redesign after effecting a corporate image makeover.
