  • The idea behind this day is to remember the sacrifices and pay tribute to the brave men who died during the attack by Chinese soldiers in Hot Springs.
  • On this day in 1959, 10 brave police personnel sacrificed their lives fighting heavily armed Chinese soldiers in Hot Springs, Ladakh.
  • In the memory of these police personnel, 'National Police Memorial' was constructed in New Delhi in the year 2018.
  • Recognition to celebrate this day was given in January, 1960.
