Poland has announced its biggest-ever national defence initiative, “At Readiness,” to train 400,000 citizens by 2026 amid growing Russia-Ukraine tensions. Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said the programme, open to all citizens including students and professionals, will enhance both military and civilian preparedness. The training covers survival skills, first aid, and cyber awareness. With defence spending at 4.8% of GDP, the initiative reinforces Poland’s commitment to strengthening national resilience and regional security.
