  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Jal Jan Abhiyan in Abu Road in Sirohi district of Rajasthan.
  • Under the nationwide campaign, people associated with the Brahmakumaris Sansthan and the Ministry of Jal Shakti will run a public awareness campaign for eight months to preserve more than five thousand water bodies across the country and to build new water bodies.  
  • A target has been set to reach ten crore people by organizing ten thousand programmes through the campaign.
  • The main objective of this campaign is to plant trees along with water harvesting and motivate people for water conservation.
