Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Jal Jan Abhiyan in Abu Road in Sirohi district of Rajasthan.
Under the nationwide campaign, people associated with the Brahmakumaris Sansthan and the Ministry of Jal Shakti will run a public awareness campaign for eight months to preserve more than five thousand water bodies across the country and to build new water bodies.
A target has been set to reach ten crore people by organizing ten thousand programmes through the campaign.
The main objective of this campaign is to plant trees along with water harvesting and motivate people for water conservation.
