Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unveiled the statue of Adi Shankara at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand.
The Samadhi has been reconstructed after the destruction in the 2013 floods.
The unveiling of the statue was streamed live at all 12 jyotirlingas, four Shankaracharya mutts (monasteries), His birthplace, and several prominent temples across India.
Adi Shankaracharya founded the holy monasteries, established the Char Dhams, and did the work of the renaissance of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
