  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi on June 18 to release Rs. 20,000 crore under the PM-KISAN scheme, benefiting over 9.26 crore farmers, marking the 17th installment of the scheme.
  • During the event, PM Modi will present certificates to more than 30,000 self-help groups recognized as Krishi Sakhis, supporting agricultural development and empowerment of women in farming.
  • The event will involve around 2.5 crore farmers, 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, over 1 lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, and 5 lakh Common Service Centres across the country to raise awareness and ensure transparency in the distribution of financial assistance to farmers.
