Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the groundwork for four hydropower projects in Himachal Pradesh.
The projects include Renukaji Dam Project, Luhari Phase-I Hydroelectric Project, Dhaulasiddha Hydro Electric Project, and Savara-Kuddu Hydroelectric Project.
The total cost of the Renukaji Dam Project is estimated to be around Rs.7000 crores. This 40 MW project is being built on the "Giri River," a tributary of the Yamuna in the Sirmaur district. This dam will be capable of supplying approximately 500 million cubic metres of water per year.
The Luhri Phase-I Hydroelectric Project, with a capacity of 210 MW, is being built at a cost of Rs 1800 crore. Every year, more than 750 million units of power are predicted to be generated.
The Dhaulasiddh Hydroelectric Project, with a capacity of 66 MW, is being developed at a cost of Rs 680 crore. This will be Hamirpur district's first hydropower project. Every year, more than 300 million units of power will be produced as a result of this.
The Savra-Kuddu Hydroelectric Project, with a capacity of 111 megawatts, costs Rs.2080 crores in total. More than 380 million units of power will be generated each year as a result of this.
