  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first phase of the 'Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project', which connects two major attractions of the temple city, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Ganga Ghats.
  • The first phase of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor has been constructed at a cost of 339 crores. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of this project on March 8, 2019.
  • The project comprises a 320-meter-long and 20-meter-wide paved walkway connecting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to the sacred Ganges ghats. It also has a museum, library, Mukti Graha, and a pilgrim facilitation centre.
  • The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the most well-known Hindu temples in Varanasi's Vishwanath Gali. It's in honour of Lord Shiva. It is located on the Ganges River's western bank.
