According to the recent announcement, PM-Kisan Bhai Yojana will be started.
The full name of PM-Kisan Bhai is PM-Kisan Storage Incentive Scheme.
As soon as this scheme is launched, farmers can store their crops for at least three months after harvesting.
During this period, as soon as they get good rates in the market, they will be able to sell their produce.
At the same time, in the present system, the farmer is forced to sell the crop immediately after harvesting it.
After purchasing from farmers, traders stock the produce and sell it at a huge price after two to three months in the off-season, which also increases inflation.
Small and marginal farmers are not able to stock their produce in warehouses.
Also, do not wait for a long time to get better prices for the produce.
Immediately after harvesting, traders buy the produce from most of the small farmers at throwaway prices.
In such a situation, farmers do not get good profit compared to the cost.
Small and marginal farmers will be given subsidy at the rate of Rs 4 per quintal every month to stock the crop in the warehouse.
This scheme will be started on experimental basis in 7 states.
These 7 states are – Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.
