The Union government has declared the Parvati-Arga Bird Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh as an Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) to strengthen biodiversity conservation. Spread over about 1,084 hectares, the wetland is a vital habitat for resident and migratory birds from Central Asia and Tibet. The ESZ status will regulate harmful activities, protect fragile wetland ecology, and promote sustainable, nature-based ecotourism while supporting local livelihoods and long-term environmental protection.
