· Indian para athlete Praveen Kumar on September 3, 2021 created a new Asian record by winning a silver medal in the men's high jump T64 event.
· Avani Lekhran also became the first Indian woman to win two medals at the Paralympics, winning a bronze medal in the R8 Women's 50m Rifle 3P SH1 event.
· She had earlier won a gold medal in the women's 10m Air Rifle R2 SH1 event.
