  • Pakistan successfully tested an improved range variant of the ‘Babur Cruise Missile 1B’, which was developed in-house.
  • The missile has a range of 900 kilometres, which is twice that of a previous missile of the same model.
  • Pakistan performed a successful training launch of an earlier version of this missile in February of this year, with a restricted capability to strike targets up to 450 kilometres away.
  • The missile can hit targets on land and at sea with pinpoint accuracy. 
  • Pakistan successfully tested ‘Fatah-1’, a Pakistan-built guided multi-launch rocket system capable of delivering conventional warheads, earlier this month.
  • Pakistan also successfully tested the ‘Shaheen 1-A’ medium-range ballistic missile in March of this year.
