Malayalam novelist P Valsala has won Kerala's highest literary award ‘Ezhuthachan Puraskaram’ for the year 2021. His first novel was Nellu on which the film was also made.
The Ezhuthachan Puraskaram is the highest literary award given by the Kerala Sahitya Akademi. The award consists of Rs 5 lakh and a citation.
