The CBI, in coordination with Interpol, FBI, U.S. Department of Justice and German authorities, arrested eight accused and identified 45 suspects involved in transnational cyber-enabled financial crimes under Operation HAECHI-VI. The operation targeted offences including voice phishing, online sextortion, romance scams, investment fraud, business email compromise, e-commerce fraud and money laundering linked to illegal gambling. Networks exploiting U.S. and German nationals were dismantled, with illegal call centres shut down in Delhi, Amritsar and Siliguri. Authorities seized $66,340 in cash and blocked 30 bank accounts, highlighting India’s strengthened collaboration in combating global cybercrime.
