A fierce encounter erupted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district under Operation Chhatru, jointly launched by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps and J&K Police. Acting on credible intelligence about terrorist presence, forces cordoned off the Chhatru area and engaged in heavy gunfire. Two to three terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the forested, high-altitude terrain. Drones and thermal imaging are being used for tracking. One soldier sustained minor injuries. The operation continues to restore peace and eliminate terrorism in the region.
