Oman has successfully launched its first national communications satellite, OmanSat-1, marking a major milestone in the country’s space and digital ambitions. Developed in collaboration with Airbus Defence and Space, the Ka-band satellite enhances secure high-speed connectivity, serving Oman and neighboring regions across the Middle East, East Africa, and Asia. Managed by Space Communications Technologies, the mission strengthens Oman’s digital sovereignty, promotes local expertise, and aligns with Oman Vision 2040 by supporting technological innovation, economic diversification, and expanded national space services.
