T-Setu, the state's longest bridge over the Mahanadi, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the Cuttack district of Odisha.
The 3.4 km long bridge, which connects Gopinathpur in Badamba, Baideswar in Banki, and Singhanath Pitha in the middle of the river, has been built at a cost of Rs 111 crore in the shape of the English alphabet 'T.'
The bridge, which has a 1.5-metre-wide footpath on both sides, will benefit residents of Cuttack and Khurda, as well as shorten the 45-kilometer distance between Badamba and Baideswar in Banki.
The foundation stone for the bridge was set on February 28, 2014, by Chief Minister Navin Patnaik.
