  • Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi announced approval of Subhadra Scheme for women empowerment in Odisha. 
  • This initiative, which will run from 2024 to 2029, will provide financial assistance to more than 1 crore women aged 21 to 59 years. 
  • This will include all eligible women aged 21 years or more and below 60 years. A total of Rs 10,000 per year will be paid in two installments of Rs 5000 each on Rakhi Purnima Day and International Women's Day (8 March). Thus, an eligible female beneficiary will receive a total of Rs 50,000 over five years.
