  • A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited and the Municipal Corporations of Gurugram and Faridabad to establish green charcoal production plants from waste.
  • The plants will be set up in Bandhwari, Gurugram, and Mothuka, Faridabad, with each plant costing approximately 500 crore rupees. They will process 1,500 tonnes of waste daily into charcoal.
  • The MoU was signed in the presence of Union Power Minister Manohar Lal, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies Subhash Sudha.
