Novy Kapadia, a well-known sports commentator, and author, died after a long illness. He was 68 years old.
Kapadia had been suffering from motor neuron disease, a rare disorder that causes the neurons in the spine and brain to lose function over time. He was popularly known as the 'voice of Indian football.'
He was a legendary football commentator who competed in the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and other multi-sport tournaments for decades.
Kapadia, who formed the Ashoka Club and participated in local league football, was well-liked by players, referees, and everyone else involved in Indian football.
