'Hunger Project' is being run by the Government of India to end the problem of hunger in the country.
Recently the Norwegian government has agreed to participate in this project.
Norwegian government will provide help to Uttarakhand under this project.
Norway will give $44.7 million to strengthen food security and environmental protection in Uttarakhand.
This amount will be valid for 3 years till September, 2026.
The funds will be used in ecologically sensitive areas, empowering women leaders, increasing food security and protecting the environment.
Its main goal is to increase the leadership of women in Gram Panchayats, local self-governing bodies.
Empowered women leaders can play an important role in conserving forests and natural resources as well as promoting sustainable living and food security.
Collaboration with forest panchayats and the broader community, especially women, is a key strategy in this effort.
