NorthEast United FC, participating for the first time, won the 40th All India Governor's Gold Cup international football tournament 2024, defeating Gangtok Himalayan 4-3 in the penalty shootout.
Gangtok Himalayans finished as runners-up of the tournament for the second consecutive time, having previously lost the final to Mohammedan Sporting Club in 2019.
