The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was announced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in October, 2023.
In the year 2023, 3 scientists have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Their names are - Maungi ji. Bawendi, Lewis E. Bruce and Alexey I. Ekimov.
These three scientists have been given this award for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.
Quantum dots are nanoparticles whose size determines their properties.
These are the smallest components of nanotechnology, which now form the basis of various electronic devices through their processes.
Maungi ji. Bawendi is a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Lewis E. Bruce is a professor at Columbia University.
Alexey I. Ekimov. Scientist at Nanocrystal Technology Inc.
