NITI Aayog has released a landmark report, “AI for Inclusive Societal Development”, focusing on leveraging artificial intelligence and frontier technologies to transform the lives of India’s 490 million informal workers, the backbone of the nation’s economy. Developed in partnership with Deloitte, the study emphasizes that AI alone cannot address systemic barriers in the informal sector; deliberate human intervention, coordinated action, and an enabling ecosystem are essential.
