NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), released a report titled “Rethinking Homestays: Navigating Policy Pathways”. The study provides a strategic roadmap for expanding the homestay and bed-and-breakfast (BnB) ecosystem in India’s tourism sector. Drawing insights from hosts, aggregators, and policymakers, the report highlights the role of homestays in offering authentic cultural experiences to travelers while also fostering local entrepreneurship, boosting employment opportunities, and strengthening rural economies.
