  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tops the list of India's 50 most powerful women, followed by Nita Ambani, founder, and chairman of Reliance Foundation.
  • Soumya Swaminathan, the Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO), is listed on the third number.
  • Nita Ambani's daughter is also listed among India's most prominent women. She is assigned to the number 21 position.
  • Since 1998, Fortune magazine has been releasing an annual list of the most powerful women in the world.
