  • Every year Falgun 7 of Bikram sambat is celebrated as National Democracy day in Nepal.
  • Many types of programs are being organized in the memory of this day in Nepal.
  • On this day the Nepalese people stood up against the then autocratic Rana regime and later established democracy for the first time in the country.
  • As a result of the struggle and sacrifices of the ordinary Nepali people, the 104 years of the Rana regime ended in 1951 AD, beginning a new era of democracy.
  • There is a program of hoisting the national flag in all government agencies, institutions, organizations, and offices and lighting lamps in the evenings of February 18, 19 and 20.
