Every year Falgun 7 of Bikram sambat is celebrated as National Democracy day in Nepal.
Many types of programs are being organized in the memory of this day in Nepal.
On this day the Nepalese people stood up against the then autocratic Rana regime and later established democracy for the first time in the country.
As a result of the struggle and sacrifices of the ordinary Nepali people, the 104 years of the Rana regime ended in 1951 AD, beginning a new era of democracy.
There is a program of hoisting the national flag in all government agencies, institutions, organizations, and offices and lighting lamps in the evenings of February 18, 19 and 20.
