  • India’s Neeraj Chopra won the men’s javelin throw event at the Lausanne Diamond League 2023 in Switzerland.
  • Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, who won the javelin throw event at the season-opening Doha leg with an 88.67m attempt in May, picked up his second successive victory with an 87.66m effort, which came in his fifth attempt.
  • Chopra won his first Diamond League Trophy when he won the Lausanne leg in August 2022. 
  • This is Neeraj's second gold medal this year i.e. 2023. 
  • He has also won a gold medal in the Doha Diamond League in May. 
  • This is Neeraj's 8th international gold medal. Earlier, Neeraj has also won gold medals in Asian Games, South Asian Games, Olympics and Diamond League.
