National Unity Day is celebrated every year on 31 October in the country.
This day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
His 148th birth anniversary is being celebrated in the year 2023.
The reason behind celebrating this day is to unite people and make them aware of their ideas for the upliftment of the society.
This day was celebrated for the first time in the year 2014.
'Run for Unity' is organized on this day.
In the year 2018, the 'Statue of Unity' was unveiled in Gujarat in honor of Sardar Patel.
The Statue of Unity is the tallest statue in the world.
Its height is 182 meters.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the first Deputy Prime Minister of the country.
After independence, he included more than 500 princely states in the Indian Union.
