  • India's national record holder triple jumper Aishwarya Babu has been banned by NADA for four years for using a prohibited anabolic steroid. 
  • She has until March 6 to file an appeal against the ban after receiving the ban notice from NADA's Appeal Panel on February 13. She was provisionally suspended in July last year.
  • Aishwarya Babu won the triple jump gold at the National Inter-State Championships in June last year with a national record-breaking leap of 14.14m. 
  • She was tested by NADA officers at the same championships.
  • The NADA stated that Aishwarya Babu’s sample returned positive for Ostarine. 
  • This drug falls in the category of selective androgen receptor modulator (SRAM) and is prohibited by WADA.
  • National Anti Doping Agency is mandated for Dope free sports in India.
