National Press Day is celebrated every year on 16 November to highlight the contribution of the press in the country.
The Press Council was established in India on July 4, 1966.
It started its formal work from 16 November 1966.
From then till today, 16th November is celebrated every year as National Press Day.
National Press Day draws our attention towards the freedom and responsibilities of the press.
The theme of National Press Day for the year 2023 is – 'Media in the age of Artificial Intelligence'.
