National Newborn Week is organized every year in the country from 15 to 21 November.
The main objective of this week is to reinforce the importance of neonatal health as a key priority area of the health sector and to reduce infant mortality by improving health care conditions for infants in the neonatal period.
India Newborn Action Plan was launched by the Central Government in the year 2014.
This week is organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The theme of this week has been 'Safety, Quality and Nutritional Care – the birth right of every newborn child'.
