  • Anil Menon, an Indian-origin physician, and US Air Force lieutenant colonel, has been chosen by NASA for future space missions.
  • NASA has chosen a total of ten people for these missions. Starting in January 2022, all ten candidates will go through a two-year training programme at Johnson Space Center.
  • They will be assigned to various missions once they have completed their training. These could include research on the space station, trips to the Moon, and other deep space missions.
  • Anil Menon is a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force.
  • He was SpaceX's first flight surgeon during NASA's SpaceX Demo-2 mission, and he assisted in the development of a medical organisation for future missions.
  • Menon has also worked for NASA as a crew flight surgeon on various crewed expeditions to the International Space Station in addition to SpaceX. (ISS).
