  • NASA is set to launch its Artemis II mission in February, marking the first human journey toward the Moon since 1972.
  • The Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft have been moved to the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center, with liftoff planned as early as February 6.
  • The crew includes Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen. The mission will take them around the Moon before returning to Earth.
  • Christina Koch will become the first woman to travel to the lunar region, while Jeremy Hansen will be the first non-American astronaut to do so, representing the Canadian Space Agency.
