  • M.V. Rao, the Managing Director and CEO of Central Bank of India, has been elected as the new chairman of the Indian Bank Association (IBA) for the term 2023-24.
  • He succeeds Atul Kumar Goel, who served as the chairman of IBA for the previous two terms and is the Managing Director and CEO of Punjab National Bank.
  • The IBA Managing Committee selected State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman Dinesh Kumar Khara, Indian Bank Managing and CEO S L Jain and City Union Bank Managing and CEO N Kamakody as Vice Chairpersons.
  • As the chairman of IBA, M.V. Rao will play a key role in representing the interests of Indian banks and fostering collaboration within the banking sector.
