Mukhi, born at Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh, turned 915 days old on 30 September 2025, becoming India’s first cheetah born on Indian soil to reach adulthood. Despite losing her three sisters to extreme heat, Mukhi survived and is now capable of reproduction, playing a key role in Project Cheetah, which aims to reintroduce cheetahs to India.
AFSPA has been extended for six more months from October 1, 2025, in parts of Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh.
