  • The formal recognition of Mizoram as a full-fledged state of India came with the adoption of the 53rd Amendment Act by the Indian Parliament in 1986. Consequently, on February 20, 1987, Mizoram officially became the 23rd state of India, marking a significant milestone in its political evolution.
  • Mizoram, with Aizawl as its capital, comprises 11 districts. Governor Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik serves as the ceremonial head of the state, while Pema Khandu holds the position of Chief Minister, responsible for the executive administration of the state.
