  • Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Mirabai Chanu has qualified for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the 55 kg category. 
  • She has made her way to the Commonwealth Games by winning a gold medal at the Singapore Weightlifting International on the very first day itself.
  • Chanu who was competing in the 55 kg category for the very first time lifted 191 kg (86kg+105kg) to stand on top of the podium in an uncompetitive field.
  • The Indian weightlifter found her glory after she secured the first medal for India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
