  • Minorities in India include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis.
  • Many provisions of the Constitution to protect the interests of minorities are contained in Article 29 and Article 30.
  • In the year 1992, 18 December was declared Minority Rights Day by the United Nations.
  • According to the 2011 census, the minority community population in India is approximately 20%.
