· The name of the mid-day meal scheme has been changed to 'PM Poshan' scheme under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
· Under this, the government has allocated a total budget of 1.3 lakh crores for five years.
· The Mid-Day Meal Scheme was started in the year 1995.
· The objective of which was to improve the nutritional status of children in primary schools across the country and to provide nutritious meals to children at least once a day, Which later proved to be helpful in improving the enrollment of children in schools.
