Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that Mauganj, a tehsil of Rewa district, would be the 53rd district of the state.
Naigarhi, Mauganj, Hanumana and Dev Talab will be merged to make Mauganj a district of Madhya Pradesh.
Residents of Mauganj were raising the demand for a separate district for a long time since the chief minister announced in 2013 that Mauganj will be developed as a separate district.
Chief Minister announced that “On August 15, the national flag will be hoisted at the new Mauganj district headquarters.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 738 crore, many of which are in Mauganj.
