Mark Carney will be Canada's new Prime Minister. Carney has been chosen as the leader of the Liberal Party. The 59-year-old Carney will take the place of Justin Trudeau as Canada's PM, who resigned in January. Carney achieved a resounding victory in the voting to choose the leader of the Liberal Party with 85.9 percent of the votes.
Mark faced former Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland as a candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party, who received only eight percent of the votes. Carney is a former executive at Goldman Sachs. Before being appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada in 2003, he worked in London, Tokyo, New York, and Toronto for 13 years.
