The state of Tamil Nadu has formed the Marine Elite Force for the conservation of marine life.
This step has been taken to tackle marine wildlife crimes in the Gulf of Mannar.
Two units of Marine Elite will be set up in the state of Tamil Nadu. The primary objectives of these units are protection of the marine sector, strengthening sustainable management and monitoring of disasters affecting marine and coastal wildlife.
