  • Man-Merag village, located near the Line of Actual Control, got the first connection of water supply from tap under the Jal Jeevan Mission during the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' being celebrated on the occasion of 75 years of independence of the country.
  • The government started work in September 2020 in Ladakh under the Jal Jeevan Mission. 
  • Under this scheme, it is targeted to supply safe drinking water through working household tap connections to every household in 125 villages of the Union Territory by December 2022 at a cost of about Rs.362 crore.
